New Bar Chair Standard AS/NZS 2425:2015

The SRIA is pleased to announce that after over 18 months of development, SAI Global have released the new standard for bar chairs:

AS/NZS 2425:2015 Bar chairs in reinforced concrete - Product requirements and test methods

The new Standard divides bar chairs into four strength grades, with the appropriate strength grade to be specified depending on the weight to be supported. It also covers minimum durability requirements for concrete bar chairs and provides the option of specifying one of four chloride permeability classes. Depending on project requirements the performance of concrete bar chairs may need to be discussed with suppliers.
